Um, a video of Steven Bartlett doing a rap battle under the name of ‘Lyricist’ has surfaced
Why does one of his bars use the word cabbage?
It’s not been the best week for Steven Bartlett. After online adverts for Huel and Zoe got banned because Steven Bartlett advertised them and the companies failed to disclose his financial investment in both, a second Bartlett bombshell hit the internet. An old video of the Diary of a CEO and Dragon’s Den star rapping in a rap battle – with Steven Bartlett performing under the name “Lyricist”. It is, of course, mortifying.
They also failed to disclose Steven Bartlett used to compete as a battle rapper called “Lyricist”: https://t.co/cIOmIeMQoB pic.twitter.com/L2Ne9LoyfP

Afer Sky News tweeted about Steven Bartlett having failed to disclose the Huel and Zoe involvement, a quote tweet went viral saying “They also failed to disclose Steven Bartlett used to compete as a battle rapper called Lyricist” – with a clip showing the CEO mid rap battle. The lyrics are dreadful… and bizarrely very anti-Irish.
Steven raps “You’re Ireland’s only last hope when it comes to rapping, and considering the fact you’re such a blatant cabbage / Ireland are going to lose another precious vegetable like the potato famine”. O-kay.
According to Twitter, most of the rap battles have been taken down that Steven Bartlett have been struck from the internet.
I was a massive dont flop fan back in the day. Knew Steven Bartlett looked somehow familiar but never made the connection. Lyricist was never big but he did have at least a few battles. I don’t really follow his podcasts etc tho

One reply explained “Lyricist was never big but he did have at least a few battles.” It’s safe to say he wasn’t a world champ in the rap battle leagues.
It comes in the wake of nutrition brands Huel and Zoe have both had adverts banned because of involvement from Steven Bartlett. Online posts from the brands have been banned after they failed to disclose his involvement in the companies.

Previously, people had been calling Steven out for promoting the products without making clear that he’s actually on the board of directors and a huge investor for Huel, and he’s also an investor for Zoe. One person called the “annoying” ad “biased” and another said he is being “portrayed as a customer giving an endorsement.”
