Usher has actually responded to the claim he’s been using a clone to perform at his concerts. Yes, this is really happening.

Let’s rewind a bit, because all of this is a lot. Over the weekend, loads of videos went viral, claiming Usher was using a lookalike at one of his concerts. And I have to be really honest here, I can see where they’re coming from. This guy definitely doesn’t look like Usher.

Loads of clips from the New York gig of his Raymond & Brown Tour have been going around. The MetLife Stadium concert was on August 7th, and while you might expect clips to go viral sharing everyone vibing, instead everyone is claiming the singer wasn’t actually there. Well, for the most part, anyway.

“Usher you can’t fool New York that’s not you bro I want my money back,” one TikTok said. “Yes I was there, this was NOT him at all! He came on later. P*ssed me off,” one person who claimed to be at the gig replied in the comments. “Thank you. I knew I wasn’t buggin,” the video creator then replied.

Another video added: “Usher, why’d you have to play us all like that last night?? That is NOT Usher.” This video also claimed that the *real* Usher came out “after a few songs”. A further said: ““Usher really sent out his doppelganger.”

Now, Usher has clapped back at the viral rumours, and debunked them. He seemed to take it well, sharing his thoughts with plenty of laughing emojis.

“Ya’ll are funny…clone? They can’t clone this??” he said in one comment. In another, he added: “How y’all come up with this? AI ain’t that advanced.”

So, Usher has obviously said it’s all a wild internet conspiracy, and there was no clone, but you can see what got people going. Next time, Usher, take off the hat and sunglasses, and then we’ll believe it’s all you.
