Uh oh! Ice Spice is being dragged for playing adverts on her tour

People were not In Ha Mood to watch two hours of ads after shelling out hundreds of dollars for tickets

Ice Spice is being slated online for playing ads at the start of concerts on her Y2K! World Tour.

People report that a handful of commercials are played on a loop for about two hours before each concert starts, including ads for a fake eyelash company called Lilly Lashes, the clothing line Juicy Couture and Trap, the new Josh Hartnett horror film.

The set list is 21 songs long and lasts for approximately an hour – less time than Ice Spice plays ads for at her concerts.

This TikTok shows crowds staring blankly at an eyelash advert as they wait for Ice Spice to appear on stage.

People were quick to complain on social media.

One Reddit user commented: “Ad breaks at the concert for her 23 minute album? She’s either the most overhyped person in music right now or this is performance art. My gut tells me it’s the former.”

“I would be mad if I were there but thankfully I don’t have shit taste in music,” another wrote.

One comment read: “She’s so tacky help 😭😭.”

Prices on AXS for General Admission tickets to the Y2K! World Tour start at about $20 (£16, but can go up to as much as $435 (£340).

This is not the first time that artists have shown adverts. The Spice Girls’ 1998 Spiceworld Tour had a 30 minute long interval with adverts. A Reddit user saw Shakira screen Garnier ads at her shows in 2011. However, concert tickets cost a lot more than they used to.

People were outraged in July that nosebleed tickets to Sabrina Carpenter concerts cost as much as £200 on Ticketmaster. Tickets are still available for Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard And Soft: The Tour, seemingly because people have been put off for the high ticket prices – standing tickets at the O2 start at £250.
