University Teams

The Blues remained top of their league after twice coming from behind to draw 2-2 at home to the Loughborough University 3rd team on Wednesday, the goals coming from Adam Healy and captain Sam Donald. Donald said that “a draw was a fair result”, and praised “the squad’s fantastic spirit and togetherness”.

The Blues also ran out 4-0 winners in a friendly against an Old Boys team on Sunday. Peder Beck-Friis scored his first and second goals for the Blues, with Julian Austin and Ezra Rubenstein netting the others.

Chris Wright scored for the Centaurs as they drew 1-1 with the Derby University 4th team in a league match.

The Women’s Blues played Cambridge, and also drew 1-1, with Kimberly Kilmartin scoring the goal. However the Furies followed up last week’s 21-1 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton University with a 21-0 loss to Worcester University.

Men’s JCR Leagues

Exeter continued their dominance of the JCR Premier Division with a 3-0 win against Wadham to make it four wins in four games, whilst St. Catherine’s beat bottom placed Magdalen 2-0, and sit second in the table.

St. Edmund Hall closed the gap at the top of the First Division table with a 3-0 win against Brasenose, and are now second to Balliol only on goal difference. Balliol themselves lost 4-1 against New whilst Merton/Mansfield picked up their first points of the season, beating winless St. Anne’s 3-0.

Donald Gordon scored a hattrick as Keble beat Pembroke 7-3 in the Second Division. LMH won 4-1 against Somerville and St. John’s beat Christ Church 3-0 and are top of the table.

The Third Division saw Hertford beat Jesus 4-1 to stay top, St. Peter’s win 3-2 against St. Hilda’s and Univ run out 4-1 winners over Corpus/Linacre.

JCR Reserves Leagues

Chris Lambert scored four goals as St. Catherine’s 2nd team demolished St. Hugh’s 3rd team 11-0 in the Reserves First Division, whilst Regent’s Park, Wadham 2nds and Worcester 3rds each scored six goals on the way to wins. St. Catherine’s top the league on goal difference.

In the other Reserves Leagues, LMH 2nd team won 13-2 against Christ Church 2nd team, with Mark Hortop scoring five times, whilst Oliver Park went one better, netting six for Univ 2nds in a 10-3 win against Lincoln 2nds.

 

MCR Leagues

Christ Church GCR beat Nuffield 9-2 and Univ MCR won 3-1 against St. Antony’s to join Wolfson and Mansfield Road MCR at the top of the MCR First Division.

Brasenose MCR top the Second Division after a 4-4 draw with Green Templeton. St. John’s were 6-0 winners over St. Antony’s 2nd team and Worcester drew 2-2 with OUP.

Keble MCR beat Magdalen MCR 6-3, Somerville MCR won 4-0 against Pembroke MCR and Kellogg triumphed 5-3 over the Korean Society in the Third Division.
