They arrested four people

Police have arrested four people suspected of holding a person in slavery after a raid last week.

A special task force set up to target human trafficking and slavery raided a house on Brisco Avenue as well as another two properties in the Leicestershire area.

Two men, aged 37 and 63, and two women, aged 36 and 64, were arrested and bailed pending a further police investigation.

Detective Sergeant Scott Cairns of the Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery team said: “Our investigation remains ongoing and represents our continued commitment to tackle the issue of human trafficking and modern day slavery.

“We would encourage the public to recognise the signs of this type of crime and if anyone has any concerns about someone being exploited in this way, we would ask they report this to us.”
