Bristol Uni student stabbed in city centre

The student was found with stab wounds on his back


Following reports of a robbery and assault on Sunday (March 3), it has been confirmed that a man found with stab wounds was a Bristol University student.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary officers were called to the scene at 8.20pm, where the student was found with stab wounds on his back.

The student has since been taken to hospital, but is said to be in a stable condition.

When addressing the incident, a University spokesperson told the Bristol Post: "The University is urging students to be vigilant after a student was assaulted in Nelson Street in the city centre on Sunday evening. He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

"Thankfully incidents of this nature are very rare, but this has understandably caused worry and concern among students who live in the city centre."
