Just four hours after Stephen Bear was found guilty, he said he needed ‘a holiday’

After the verdict, Bear said he was ‘always fighting a losing battle’

Stephen Bear was found guilty of disclosing private sexual images/films of Georgia Harrison and of voyeurism after a jury of nine men and three women found him guilty of all counts. Bear was on trial for six days after being arrested and charged last year. Stephen Bear later posted on Twitter his need for a holiday after the trial.

Moments after the verdict was announced, Georgia Harrison said she was feeling “relieved” after two years of “absolute hell”. She said: “Bear’s behaviour was completely unacceptable and those who choose to commit such crimes should and will be prosecuted”.

Against the advice of his barrister, Bear addressed the court after the verdict was read, saying his trial had been unfair. He said: “My barrister said not to but it’s nothing bad. In my opinion from the beginning it was never a fair trial. What the press were saying about me, I was always fighting a losing battle, and it is what it is.”

Just four hours after he was found guilty, Stephen Bear shared a photo of his mugshot on Twitter and said: “This guy needs a holiday. Where should he take his model girlfriend?”

Bear’s girlfriend, Jessica Smith, was by his side throughout the trial and shared her support for him. In one tweet she said: “I’ll always be by your side, even if the whole world is against you.” Stephen and Jessica would often turn up in a Rolls Royce to court each day of the trial.
