Jacques has turned down £60k to appear on Celebs Go Dating after quitting the villa

Since leaving Love Island 2022, Jacques O’Neill has reportedly turned down a £60k offer to appear on another dating show, Celebs Go Dating. He is said to have been approached by bosses of the E4 dating series, since he decided to leave the villa.

According to The Sun, Jacques was offered £60k to appear on the show, an offer which he has turned down because he wants to wait for Paige, who he was coupled up with before leaving Love Island. On the show, Paige has since coupled up with Adam Collard and they have been shown kissing and sharing a bed, talking about how their connection as a couple is “going well”.

A source said told The Sun execs at Celebs Go Dating think the show’s experts, Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson, could prove really valuable guides for Jacques. Since leaving Love Island, Jacques has admitted he needs to work on himself, and has said going on the show was “the worst decision of his life”.

“I was ready to break down,” he said, speaking of Love Island in an interview. “I was feeling so mentally drained, I just wanted to go home and get myself right. It broke me and I was already broken. I was crying my eyes out. I couldn’t cope. I was literally feeling awful. It was the worst I’d ever felt in my life.”

Speaking of Jacques being approached for Celebs Go Dating, a source told The Sun: “It’s very early days and bookers for Celebs Go Dating have only really just got started. But an Islander always makes for a great signing and Jacques is a real stand-out, particularly because he’s already shown that he’s willing to put the work in and really change.

“That’ll make him a really credible candidate for the agency’s help, never mind be someone that fans would tune in for. But Jacques wants to wait for Paige so it may well be too late by the time she emerges.”
