Say hello to Jay: Economics grad and new Love Island 2022 bombshell

Surprise! Another Islander with someone famous in the family!

Love Island is giving us a double new arrival situation, as Jay and Remi are about to strut into the 2022 villa and turn some heads. The boys add to the ever growing list of bombshells there have already been this year, and come straight after Afia became the first Islander to be dumped from this series.

One of the two boys is Jay – who is 28 and says he’s at the point in his life where he could do with a helping hand from the Love Island producers. Sure. Here’s everything you need to know about him.

Jay is 28 and thinks he’s at the right point in his life to head to Love Island

Jay Younger is 28 and from Edinburgh. Ironically, he’s actually one of the older contestants on the show this year. When asked why Love Island, Jay said: “I think I am at the point in my life where it would be quite fun to find someone and have fun along the way. And doing it in Mallorca and in the villa would be a great opportunity, so why not?”

He works as an Investment Analyst and studied economics and finance at uni

Right now, Jay is working as an Investment Analyst. He studied economics and finance at Herriot-Watt University and graduated with a first class honours in 2017. Smart, too!

Speaking of his job and how this makes him a good catch, Jay said: “I think I genuinely have what most females want. I’ve got a good job, I think I am a good looking lad and I have a lot of fun so I feel like I could add a lot of value to their lives if they add a lot of value to mine.”

‘I am probably the heart of the party’

Jay said he think he’ll be a “supportive Islander” for the other cast members. He added: “I think I am going to bring a lot of fun. Hopefully some good laughs along the way and maybe some indecisive decisions.”

He doesn’t sound too convinced here, but Jay has said he’s “probably” the heart of the party. He said his friends and family would describe him as “quite unassuming”. However, he said he is “very competitive”, so “wouldn’t be afraid to go after a girl if I wanted them.”

Step aside Gemma Owen, Jay is also a Love Island 2022 Islander with a famous family member!

Gemma isn’t the only one! When asked if he has any claims to fame, Jay said: “My grandad played for Liverpool and he was captain of Scotland back in the 1950s. He was in the hall of fame for Liverpool and he was in the hall of fame for Hibernian F.C.” His grandfather was Tommy Younger, who played from 1948 to 1963. I wonder if he’ll spill the beans to his fellow Islanders?

Jay has 3.8k followers on Instagram

His Instagram really gives nothing away, because Jay only has 21 posts and they’re mostly just fitness pictures. But, he has 3.8k followers and his handle is @jayyounger_, if you’re interested. In his spare time, Jay regularly takes part in NFG (National Fitness Games) and Turf competitions.

Love Island 2022 continues on ITV2 at 9pm tonight. For all the latest Love Island news and gossip and for the best memes and quizzes, like The Holy Church of Love Island on Facebook.
