Everything you need to know about Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp’s lawyer
Has she ever represented a celebrity before?
TikTok has sadly decided to girlbossify Johnny Depp’s legal team instead of – y’know – not making memes out of a domestic violence case. Camille Vasquez’s no-nonsense, blunt way of questioning Amber Heard has earnt her a lot of respect online, and people are wondering what her story is.
From telling Heard she “beat (Depp) up” to branding Depp “a victim (of Heard),” highlights from her cross-examination can be found all over the internet.
So, just who exactly is Camille Vasquez? And which cases has she worked on before?
Camille works for Brown Rudnick – a renowned law firm
The website says she focuses mainly on plaintiff-side defamation suits. This means she works with the person who brings a case against another – Johnny Depp was the one who sued Amber Heard first, so she’s working with him.
She also defends employees making a claim against their workplace, as well as advising media spokespeople on how to deal with high-stress cases.
She graduated law school in 2010
Camille is obviously a highly-professional lawyer – and she only graduated 12 years ago. She studied at Southwestern Law School in LA, as well as the University of Southern California.
Camille won the Best Lawyers – Ones To Watch award
Earlier this year, the lawyer won an award for Commercial Litigation. In plain English, this means legal disputes involving businesses. She can also speak Spanish!!
No, she’s not dating Johnny Depp
Why is this rumour even a THING? According to The Mirror, rumours have circulated about the pair’s relationship status throughout the trial. Sources close to Camille have reportedly confirmed there’s nothing going on – and she’s actually in a relationship with a British realtor.
This appears to be her first high-profile celebrity case
There isn’t a huge amount of info on Camille’s case history, but this seems to be the first time she’s defended someone in the public eye – particularly as high on the celeb-scale as Johnny Depp.
