inside no. 9 cast

Here’s the confirmed cast of Inside No. 9 as it returns for series seven

It’s back tonight!!!

The criminally underrated Inside No. 9 is coming back to our screens tonight (20th April) for more twists, turns and darkly funny moments.

It’s tricky to believe the series first started almost eight years ago – and (tbh) that it still manages to stay original. But Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith are literal writing geniuses who feed us great plotlines every year, so I’m definitely not complaining.

As ever, series seven promises a stellar line-up of guest stars; from film actors to TV legends… even the third member of The League of Gentlemen himself. Here’s a full rundown of everyone we recognise in the Inside No. 9 series seven cast so far:

Of course, Steve Pemberton looks set to feature throughout the majority of season seven. In previous years, he’s played a cat burglar, a Cambridge professor and a troubled PC. This coming string of episodes are set to be more chaotic than ever, and fans are excited to see what he’ll get up to next.

Inside No. 9 naturally wouldn’t be complete without Steve’s other half; Reece Shearsmith. The series seven trailer shows the actor playing a disturbed character, as well as his animated alter-ego. Both cast members will be joining Mark Gatiss in the first episode – Merrily, Merrily.

The gang’s back together (minus Jeremy Dyson, sadly!!) for one more episode. Before he went on to write for Doctor Who, Sherlock and other iconic TV shows, Mark formed one-quarter of comedy group The League of Gentlemen alongside Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.

Recently, the actor-slash-writer has tried his hand in Hollywood, looking set to feature in Mission: Impossible 7. He also starred in The Father alongside Olivia Coleman.

Diane Morgan

Philomena Cunk herself will star in an episode this coming series. Diane is also known for playing Liz in Motherland and Kath in After Life.

Annette Badland

Okay, you may not recognise the name – but her face will INSTANTLY jog the memories of Doctor Who fans everywhere. Annette is probably best known for playing a Slitheen in Christopher Eccleston’s series – but she’s also recently been in The Crown and Ted Lasso.

Annette is set to star in episode two of the new series; Mr. King.

Daniel Mays

Daniel Mays is a household name – and he’s probably best known for his roles in Line of Duty, Good Omens and Netflix’s White Lines. He’ll be appearing in a future episode of Inside No. 9 series seven.

Jason Isaacs

Harry Potter’s Jason Isaacs will be starring in an episode sometime soon. The guy is literally a Hollywood legend – and as well as playing Lucius Malfoy, he’s also starred in Cars 2, Star Trek: Discovery and The OA.

Jessica Hynes

Jessica Hynes is basically a staple on any British TV show. As well as Inside No. 9, she’s appeared in Doctor Who, W1A, The Witchfinder and Nativity Rocks (lol iconic).

Daisy Haggard

Back to Life’s Daisy Haggard will feature in an upcoming episode of Inside No. 9. You might also recognise her from Breeders, Peep Show and Black Mirror: Nosedive.
