These are the transformations of the Gossip Girl cast from episode one to now

Gossip Girl first premiered 15 years ago and though the cast members were in their early 20s pretending to be teenagers, they’ve still had some dramatic transformations since the pilot.

Blake Lively and Leighton Meester started off playing their iconic Gossip Girl roles in the late 2000s and their looks at the time certainly reflected that. They were rocking poker straight hair and super thin eyebrows. Thankfully they’ve embraced thick eyebrows and switched their hairstyles up just a bit.

Honestly looking back at the cast’s first appearance on the show will make you feel so old. Now the boys have facial hair and some of the cast have babies of their own.

These are the transformations of the Gossip Girl cast members:

Serena Van Der Woodsen – Blake Lively

Blake Lively was just 20 years old when the Gossip Girl pilot aired and now she’s 34 years old with two kids and a husband.

Her look has obviously changed quite a bit in 14 years but she still looks very much herself. Her eyebrows are much thicker now than they were in the late 2000s, thank god. Her hair is a lot darker than the bright blonde Serena was known for and it appears thicker.

Blair Waldorf – Leighton Meester

No one was more iconic in 2007 than Blair Waldorf. Leighton Meester played teenager Blair when she was 21 years old.

Now she is 35 years old, married to Adam Brody and they have two children together.

During the pilot episode Leighton was rocking the classic thin 00s eyebrows. Now she’s got a much more natural look to her brows.

Before she joined Gossip Girl Leighton’s hair was blonde and she dyed it in order to get the part of Blair. However right now it’s a lighter more mousey brown colour and a lot longer than it ever was during the show.

Though Leighton would have always had her freckles, they were never seen in the show, but now it looks like she fully embraces them.

Dan Humphrey – Penn Badgley

Now Penn Badgley really has had a big transformation since Gossip Girl. Today he’s super famous for his role as Joe in Netflix’s You as well as Lonely Boy in Gossip Girl.

Penn was 21 years old when he first starred in Gossip Girl and is now 35 years old and married with one child.

When Penn first auditioned for the role of Dan, he had long “snowboarder” style hair but on the first day of filming he shaved off all his hair for the signature buzz cut he rocked in the first season.

Today his hair is long and wavy, and he’s rocking a thick beard.

Chuck Bass – Ed Westwick

Ed Westwick’s biggest ever role will hands down always be Chuck Bass. He was 20 years old when the series first started and he certainly looked baby faced in comparison to his 34 year-old self today.

During the pilot he had a classic 2000s male hair cut and no facial hair. Nowadays he goes for a more sticky up do and practically always has a beard.

Nate Archibald – Chace Crawford

Chace Crawford is now 36 years old but was a fresh faced 22-year-old when the pilot of Gossip Girl aired.

He started off with that classic preppy boy hair cut, thick eye brows and no facial hair. During the later seasons Chace’s lips had changed slightly after an accident left him requiring stitches in his lip.

Today there is still a hint of that cut, however it’s mainly disappeared. Chace has also switched up his look with plenty of facial hair and shorter hair.

Jenny Humphrey – Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen is definitely the Gossip Girl character who had the biggest transformation by the end of the show.

She was only 14 years old when she started as teenager Jenny Humphrey and is now 28 years old.

Her face has definitely matured as she’s grown older, but she’s still very recognisable. Her hair was long and blonde during the pilot and it’s still quite similar now.

Vanessa Abrams – Jessica Szhor

Though she didn’t appear in the pilot Jessica Szhor was still in the first season. She was 22 years old when she was supposed to be playing a teenager. Now she’s in a long term relationship and gave birth to her first child last year.

Her hair is easily the thing that’s changed the most since the early episodes. Vanessa had a signature curly look, whereas Jessica often wears her hair straight and quite short.

Vanessa was practically the only girl with normal shaped eyebrows which she’s kept today.
