Exactly why Davina left The Oppenheim Group ahead of Selling Sunset season four

Jason is said to be ‘sad’ about her decision

Season four of Selling Sunset has just landed on Netflix, and one of the biggest changes to The Oppenheim Group which is clear straight away is that Davina has left.

In the first episode of the new season, Jason Oppenheim says he is hiring for Davina Potratz’s replacement, as the group is too busy to have empty desks. In the space between Netflix seasons of the show, Davina announced she would be leaving the Selling Sunset real estate company and moving on to new things. Here is the exact reason why Davina left The Oppenheim Group and she will not be working there in season four of Selling Sunset on Netflix.

Davina left The Oppenheim Group to join a rival agency

Ok so pretty straight to the point, but Davina has ditched the business to join another brokerage. She’s decided to join Douglas Elliman, a rival real estate agency in Beverly Hills and said the firm presented her an offer she couldn’t refuse. “I’m really excited to be a part of Douglas Elliman and their very sophisticated and global new development division,” she told People magazine in an interview about her decision. “My background is in new development sales and marketing, so this is just a wonderful opportunity for me. It’s just very in tune with my skills.”

In the interview, she added she had not yet told her fellow Selling Sunset realtors. “We all know each other so well. So I think they’ll be excited and supportive,” she said. “It’s not that I wanted to leave, but I had a great opportunity. It was a purely business decision.”

And if you’re wondering, given the nature of the gossip and drama that comes with Selling Sunset, there is kinda beef over it. She has joined a rival business, after all. Jason is said to be “sad” about the decision, but he told People: “Davina has always been a tremendous asset and a valued agent at The Oppenheim Group, and she is also a friend whose career decisions I very much respect and support. I will always want the best for Davina, and I hope that we continue to work together in the future.”

Davina has since been replaced at the company by a new realtor, Vanessa Villela, who joins the show this season.

Will Davina be in season four of Selling Sunset?

You might be wondering why, if she’s left the group, Davina is still in all the promo material for season four of the show. That’s because her time on the show might not be completely over. She’s still in all her fellow realtors’ lives and she has been filming for new episodes, so yes, she will be in it in some form. Davina is hopeful she will still be in the show moving forward too, saying at the time of her leaving: “I certainly hope that I’m still part of the cast. Brett is not at The Oppenheim Group anymore either, so I don’t think that that’s going to be an issue at all.”
