The 50 unis with the most expensive halls, according to the Good University Guide

You might as well be living in Spen-tonville Prison

Every single poly-educated Dad dropping their child off at a fancy new-build student halls this month will, without fail, say the same thing: “Phwoar, it wasn’t like this back in my day!”

And it wasn’t – for tuppence ha’penny our ancestors lived in squalid, probably ratty, uni “digs”. Now we get to do the same, except for over £100 a week.

The cost of living at uni has become crazy. How crazy? The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide has worked out the minimum you’ll be paying for a room at every university in the country..

Topping the list is Westminster – with its cheapest room a shocking £787 per month.

The top five unis are all London universities, unsurprisingly. But the presence of Arts University Bournemouth at eighth place is a shock inclusion
