The best unis for each and every subject, according to the Good University Guide

It’s a good time to be a Strathclyde student


Just as freshers are about to jet off to halls in Dad’s Volvo, a slew of uni rankings are being released to give them last minute regrets. The latest to be published is the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

It breaks down all kinds of stats on unis – but also tells readers which is the best university for each and every subject.

Cambridge dominates – it’s the best for 23 subjects. Oxford can only manage five. Overall university of the year St Andrews is best for seven subjects, while Glasgow, Strathclyde and Imperial are the best for three apiece.

However, it’s not all Oxford and Cambridge – for over half of the subjects listed, it’s best to go elsewhere.
