It’s official: Glastonbury has been cancelled

It’ll take place in 2021 instead

Glastonbury Festival has officially been cancelled.

This year’s festival will instead be held next year, whilst any tickets for will roll over to next year.

Michael and Emily Eavis, the festival’s organisers, confirmed the news on Twitter, saying 2020 “will be an enforced fallow year for the Festival”.

People with tickets for this year can either reclaim their £50 deposit or roll it over and guarantee a ticket for 2021.

Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar, and Taylor Swift were due to headline this year’s festival.

“We were so looking forward to welcoming you all for our 50th anniversary with a line-up full of fantastic artists and performers that we were incredibly proud to have booked,” the organisers said on Twitter.
