An American shares five very common things in the UK she thinks are way better than in the US
I strongly agree with the last one
There are loads of differences between life in the US and the UK, and one American woman has shared the things she thinks Britain does better.
Brianna Morton, 38, moved to Norfolk three years ago after her husband was stationed here with the US Air Force. She’s had to get used to all sorts of British habits, and says now she wouldn’t want to leave.
So, here are the five things she says the UK does way better than the US:

1. Public transport
Back in Kansas, Brianna had to drive everywhere. Trains barely ran, buses were rare, and she says life was basically impossible without a car. Here, she doesn’t even need a car for most trips. There are loads of options, local buses, trains, even trams, and it’s so much easier to get around. She also loves that her kids can use public transport to get to school or meet friends without her having to drive them.
2. Healthcare
One of the biggest shocks for her was the NHS. In the US, one broken arm could set you back tens of thousands of dollars, and Brianna says medical bills used to pile up for even small injuries. In the UK, the system is tax-funded, and she doesn’t have to stress about bills.
3. History and architecture
Brianna is obsessed with castles and cathedrals. She says the UK’s buildings and history are incredible. Going for a picnic next to a castle? Basically a dream come true. She loves taking her kids to explore old towns and learning about the country’s past. She even says her childhood self would be jealous of all the historical sites she can visit.

4. Travel opportunities
Being based in the UK makes it super easy to explore Europe. Brianna has visited around 30 countries in three years, which would be way harder from the US. In the Uk, you can hop on a train or budget flight for a weekend trip. It’s all just a short journey away.
5. Chocolate
Brianna only tried Cadbury’s after moving here, and she’s hooked. She says American chocolate, like Hershey’s, tastes “waxy” in comparison. “It’s nostalgic, but it doesn’t taste good,” she said. Basically, the UK makes chocolate the way it’s supposed to taste, and once you try it, there’s no going back. As a chocolate connoisseur, I can confirm she is absolutely right.
