The chilling final words Charlie Kirk said before being shot and killed at university event
He was talking about gun violence
Yesterday, US political activist and executive director of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk was shot and killed whilst speaking at a Utah Valley University event. The final words Charlie Kirk said before he was killed make the situation even more chilling.
On Wednesday, 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was sitting under a canopy at a TPUSA event for The American Comeback Tour. As he was addressing the crowds he was shot at. This happened at around 12.10pm local time, around 20 minutes into his presentation.
The university said in a statement: “At about 12.10 a shot was fired at the visiting speaker, Charlie Kirk. He was hit and taken from the location by his security. Campus police is investigating, a suspect is in custody.”
It was later confirmed he had died following his injuries. Two suspects are reported to have been taken into custody, but both have been released without charge. The manhunt for whoever the shooter was continues.

Just before his death, Charlie Kirk had been speaking to an audience member about gun violence. The set-up of the event was for him to answer questions from students and community members in his signature “change-my-mind” style. Police were on standby at the event, to monitor crowds.

Before his death, an audience member asked Kirk: “Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?” He replied: “Too many.” The same audience then member went on say the number is five, and asked Charlie Kirk if he knew how many mass shooters there have been in America over the last 10 years. Kirk said: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”.
At that moment, Charlie was shot and killed. It’s been reported the shooter was most likely on a nearby rooftop, but nothing has been confirmed. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
