‘Bodies, bodies!’: Where the infuriatingly catchy TikTok audio is actually from

Lenny? Carvell? Him? Him?

Another day, another catchy audio going around. You might have heard a TikTok audio that starts “bodies, bodies” being used by everyone, and wondered where on earth it’s from.

The viral sound I mean, in full, goes: “Tiana, Khadija, Lenny, Carvell, Him, Him, Him, Her, Him Him. Bodies, bodies, bodies. They’re all dead.” The audio then ups the music. People have been using the sound to transition between two clips, and use the later, darker part of the sound to mimic a gun, and then change to a different frame.

It’s big on makeup TikTok, as the girlies list off the names with a bare face, mimic shooting a gun, and then as it says “they’re all dead” they have a full face. But where is the audio originally from?

Where is the bodies TikTok audio actually from?

The sound is from a TV show. It’s called Snowfall, and the line was delivered by Damson Idris, who played Franklin Saint. The full audio is from a fan edit made about the scene.

The synopsis for the show, that started in 2017 and ended in 2023, reads: “During the budding drug epidemic in Los Angeles in the early 1980s, a crime family decides to make money selling cocaine. Meanwhile, a CIA operative also gets involved.”

The scene is quite iconic among those who watch the show, and is known as “the bodies scene”. It happened in season five, episode eight. In the scene, Franklin is describing exactly what you might expect: The number of bodies that have piled up.

The show is rated 92 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, and is available on BBC iPlayer and Disney+. On TikTok, the audio has gone really viral, and has been used in 100k videos. These have received millions and millions of views. We’re talking a lot of fan edits!
