TikTok labels North West’s outfits as ‘inappropriate’ as people compare her to Blue Ivy

North West could sneeze and she’d make headlines, unfortunately it seems part in parcel of being a Kardashian adjacent.

The poor girl can’t even go on holiday with her mum without making headlines for the way she walks.

But that wasn’t the only thing people picked up on after she was spotted on the streets of Italy – a lot of people seem to have a problem with how North is dressed.

The 12-year-old was spotted in Rome where saw the sights, including the Colosseum, with her mum Kim Kardashian. Wearing a corset and mini skirt, people immediately commented on her outfit and questioned whether it was appropriate for a 12-year-old.

The same crowd has pulled Beyoncé’s  daughter, Blue Ivy, into the debate, comparing the two tweens and the stark differences in how they dress.

On user on TikTok, Alexis, shared her reaction to North’s outfit in Rome, saying: “I am not a mother, but I don’t think this is an appropriate outfit for a 12-year-old. Like, am I being crazy? Am I being a Karen? I don’t think so.”

She added: “Guys, that is an insane outfit for a 12-year-old. This isn’t even a teenager. This is not an adult, this is so far from an adult. This is a middle school child. This is a child. I fear this is crazy and leads to a crash out that makes the one from Britney and Amanda Bynes pale in comparison. This cannot be healthy.”

Users commented “She looks older than her own mother..” and “This is what Kanye feared.”

In another video however, the user highlighted how she noticed stark differences between North West and Blue Ivy are both dressed, despite being similar in age and in the public eye.

At just over a year older than North, Blue has recently began performing on stage with her mum, Beyonce, during her Cowboy Carter tour. But TikTok was quick to user her as an example of how much more age appropriate her stage outfits and general clothing is in comparison to North’s.

Using a photo of Blue on stage during a performance, Alexis broke down her outfit and explained why she thought it was an age appropriate modification for her teenager.

She said: “It seems that Beyoncé really doesn’t mess around with making sure that Blue’s outfits are appropriate, even when she’s performing. You can see in the back these dancers have on Spanx and thigh high boots, it’s a little more sexy.

“She put her in the same pattern but a baggier pant, a higher neckline. I appreciate that. And this is even for a performance so this is obviously a little bit more artistic, a little bit more of an interesting outfit.

“She’s 13, I think she looks appropriate for a celebrity 13-year-old who’s performing with her mother who’s Beyoncé.”

In another comparison which Alexis “loved”, she compared Blue’s outfit compared to her mother’s, explaining how she had the same vibe but was much more covered in comparison to Beyoncé.

Alexis added: “Overall I would say that Beyoncé has a different take on parenting than Kimberley does.”

Under one video, a commenter wrote: “North and Blue Ivy are the same age… BEYONCE WOULD NEVER.”

Another highlighted similarities in North and Blue’s wardrobes, saying: “Blue Ivy wears corsets too, but they have different bodies.”

In other videos, Alexis made her argument by comparing how other celebrity teens and tweens dress on the red carpet, with the Beckham’s daughter, Harper, and the young cast of Stranger Things as further examples.

In response to criticisms over her take, Alexis begins: “Do y’all seriously think it’s hard to find age appropriate outfits and ballgowns when you are a multi millionaire/billionaire?”

She also uses examples of celebs like Jamie Foxx with his 11-year-old daughter on the red carpet, showing her “extremely age appropriate” outfit.
