Beyoncé finally reveals why Blue Ivy and Rumi join her on stage, but twin brother Sir doesn’t

It makes perfect sense

Beyoncé has the world eating out of her hand yet again — not just with her killer vocals and jaw-dropping outfits, but with her adorable on-stage moments featuring daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter. While Blue Ivy is giving major “mini Beyoncé” energy and Rumi is busy stealing hearts at just eight years old, their twin brother, Sir, is notably MIA from all the Cowboy Carter tour action. Now, we’ve finally got some answers to why Beyoncé allows Blue Ivy and Rumi on stage but not their twin brother, Sir.

Blue Ivy was born for this

At just 13, Blue Ivy already has admirers of her own. She’s been dancing with Beyoncé since the Renaissance tour and even led the crowd during Déjà Vu like a total pro. But it wasn’t always a yes from mum.

In the Renaissance film, Beyoncé admitted she told Blue Ivy “no” at first when she asked to perform. “I did not think it was an appropriate place for an 11-year-old on a stadium stage,” she said. But Blue Ivy proved she was ready, worked her butt off, and earned her moment.

Now? She’s a full-on dance captain in training.

Rumi on stage was adorable

Rumi, Beyoncé’s youngest daughter (and Blue Ivy’s mini-me in sass), made her own sweet debut on tour during the emotional ballad, Protector. She hugged her mama and sister mid-performance and waved to the crowd like a tiny pro.

Apparently, Rumi’s been begging to get on stage for ages. Beyoncé hasn’t confirmed it yet, but people who’ve watched the behind-the-scenes footage know this little queen has been copying her mom’s dance moves for years. Stage fright? Never heard of it.

So…where’s Sir?

Don’t worry, Sir’s just fine. According to Beyoncé’s family, he’s simply not into the whole fame thing. Speaking to E! News, grandma Tina said, “The girl [Rumi] is going to rule the world, and the boy [Sir] is kind of laid back and chills like the dad.” Basically, he’s the Jay-Z of the kids; cool, quiet, and not interested in centre stage. Even Beyoncé’s dad, Mathew Knowles, has said that Sir just “wants his world to himself.”

Beyoncé is all about giving her kids freedom to be who they are. Blue Ivy wants to perform? She gets the stage. Rumi wants to try it out? She gets her moment. Sir wants to chill? Let the boy chill!
