In preparation for JB7, here’s a definitive ranking of Justin Bieber’s six studio albums
Years of being a Belieber has truly prepared me for this moment
I have no shame admitting it, growing up I was a staunch Belieber. There was nothing Justin Bieber could do wrong in my eyes, and the continual release of absolute bangers kept my obsession with him strong.
Therefore, I’m sure you can understand that I’m feeling a bit impatient waiting for JB7, I mean, it’s been four years since his last album and frankly I’m gagging for more music.
So, in preparation for his next musical era, I’ve ranked Justin Bieber’s six released albums in order of how much they’re a bop.
Beliebers, don’t come for me.
6. Changes
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t really with Justin during this era. It just frankly wasn’t for me.
I’m sorry for newer Justin fans who may have found his music through this album but in my eyes, it just doesn’t stack up next to the rest.
5. Justice
Whilst Justice may be Justin Bieber’s least successful studio album sales wise, it really has great varied tracks that you can happily bop along to or have as background music.
Peaches always makes me feel happy, and Holy is just so beautiful. I really take my hat off to Justin here for this under appreciated album.
However, Justin released this album at a hugely difficult time for all of us around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic.
Talking to Vogue, he spoke about what he wanted his album to do for his listeners: “My objective in making this album was to provide comfort to the listener […] I know a lot of people have been isolated, but music is really an outlet to bring people together.”
Therefore, whilst this album’s songs aren’t my favourite from JB, Justice truly deserves to be recognised more.
4. Under the Mistletoe
Most Read
Controversial, but I’d rather gouge my eyes out than listen to Christmas music during the festive period, but there are a few songs I can bear.
Ariana Grande’s Santa Tell Me and Justin Bieber’s Mistletoe can go right in my festive basket as they’re actually certified Christmas pop bangers.
The rest on the album, however, is slightly too festive for me but I can appreciate the appeal.
3. Purpose
Whilst Purpose doesn’t have as many bangers as my top two albums on this list, it has a truly special place in my heart and shows Justin’s evolution as an artist.
This album was the one where many started taking him more seriously, as opposed to a singer who only teens obsessed over.
It also been said that this album was inspired by Justin’s personal growth at the time, and there’s no doubt that Purpose reflects feelings of evolution and redemption throughout.
2. Believe
I loved Justin’s Believe era. The hair, the tour, the music. It was sensationally iconic and still brings me such joy.
To this day, Beauty and the Beat is my “hear me out” song, and I will with 100 per cent certainty say, I sound identical to Nicki Minaj singing this.
Believe also brought us bangers like All Around the World, Boyfriend, and As Long as You Love Me. Although, whilst Believe is a great album, it’s just not my number one.
1. My World (1.0 and 2.0)
Right, I know My World isn’t a studio album, but 2.0 is so let’s just combine them here as one so we can appreciate this whole era.
Maybe it’s nostalgia but for me, My World was revolutionary.
Upon hearing One Time, I was a changed girly. Then One Less Lonely Girl came out and I think I watched that music video at least 100 times. I wanted to be his One Less Lonely Girl, but alas, here I am writing about Justin Bieber’s albums 15 years later, still single, still lonely.
Then, when My World 2.0 came out, I was shook. My life truly changed. I mean, Eenie Meenie, do I need to say more?
Also, shout out to Overboard, That Should be Me, U Smile and Stuck in the Moment for continuing to be my absolute favourites to belt in the car.
That album effectively baptised me as a Belieber, and I will never hesitate to rap Ludacris’ Baby verse when challenged.
Therefore, there is no shock why My World 1.0 and 2.0 sit firmly in my top spot.
Bonus: Never Say Never
This song featured on a number of Justin Bieber‘s albums and as part of Jaden Smith’s Karate Kid soundtrack.
It still slaps to this day and holds a special place in many fans’ hearts so I couldn’t dare leave it out. It just had to be mentioned one way or another.
