An influencer is getting ripped to shreds over his Coachella camping setup and it’s so brutal
Boomtown would eat these poor Americans alive
An influencer is getting utterly dragged on TikTok after he showcased his camping setup for Coachella that came equipped with a Hollywood director’s chair, vintage nick-nacks for decoration, and even a potted plant. I know the UK versus US festival argument is a little tired, but oh my god, these clueless American influencers would drown in the chaos of Glastonbury, Parklife, and Leeds.
I’ve never been lucky enough to attend Coachella, but I’ve been to more than my fair share of British festivals, and it’s simply not an authentic UK experience if you haven’t seen three people gurning by lunchtime. Coachella seems like a different monster entirely, one that is draped in gross expenditure and influencer fakery. Exhibit A: Jerry Maestas.
Jerry Maestas is an influencer from (shocker) Los Angeles who specialises in vintage-style content, outfits, photography and interior design. Basically, he’s trapped in a glamorised bygone era where most of us didn’t have rights. In a TikTok post that has since recieved over 12 million views, Jerry showcased his lavish Coachella camping setup.

“I’m camping at Coachella for the very first time, and I wanted to bring a piece of my appartment with me out into the desert,” he said, revealing the bare bones of his car-camping set up.

Jerry created a living space using a gazebo, and while this by itself is completely normal, he then spent a shocking amount of time dressing it up. I don’t know about you, but I basically live out of my suitcase at a festival, and my tent is usually just a place to pass out at the end of the day. Jerry brought an admittedly stunning rug for the bottom of his living space, which he then covered with a blow-up bed and enough blankets to put Home Sense out of business. To top it off, he used a fold-out table with a cream tablecloth for an “elevated” and “vintage camping site” vibe.
He then accented the area with a vintage trunk, a snacking table, cowboy hats for decor, a potted cactus, and an array of “vintage nick nacks” to give off the “classic cowboy Coachella” vibe he was looking for. A lot of people questioned how his stuff wasn’t getting stolen, and that’s because he manually puts it all back in his car each day.
@jerry__anthony what if somebody steals my stuff from my coachella campsite? #coachella #coachella2025 #carcamping #coachellacamping
Sadly, Jerry is not the only influencer who has been going the mile for their Coachella camping setups, and all of them are just as insufferable.
People just can’t get over the influencer’s Coachella camping setup
From Reddit to Twitter, TikTok to Instagram, Jerry Maestas is now being dragged by both Americans and British people alike. Most criticisms can be boiled down to the following argument: Why do American influencers have to ruin everything?
In the comments, one person said: “Glastonbury camping would put the average coachella goer into a coma.”
@ismith32 I had a huge rant but I had to trim it down. #coachella #millennial #millennialsoftiktok #millennialsontiktok #coachella2025
“Is there a best Coachella tent competition or something? And who’s watching your stuff while you’re out?” another said.
A third wrote: “Classic vintage camping site… men used to go to war…”
“We used to go to a three day rave with a trash bag and a pack of gum,” another said.
Dear Coachella influencers, I write to you today as a concerned British person watching your Coachella content on TikTok. Please, roll in some mud, fall over, wear a random flip-flop you found on the floor, throw up on your bestie, or do SOMETHING – anything – other than take pictures and pretend you’re actually enjoying yourselves.
