This Severance baby theory explains why latest episode is the most important and disturbing
This explains exactly why the babies wear suits in the title sequence
Have you recovered from the Severance season two, episode four carnage of Woe’s Hallow? If the answer is yes, well good for you I guess cause I can still barely even function. The episode threw everything we knew into crisis, validated popular fan theories and still managed to throw up even more questions and agonising mystery. It was one of the best episodes, if not THEE best episodes of the entire show. Woe’s Hallow took us on the field trip, dumped us in the icy tundra with the Innies and felt like an absolute fever dream – but this theory on Severance explains how it’s all to do with the baby. Baby Kier, a future pregnancy and harrowing parallels between Mark S, Helena and Kier and his women – this Severance theory explains Woe’s Hollow and the future of the show and it all feels like it’s making sense now.
Well, ish. As much sense as Severance possibly can at this stage.
This is the best interpretation of E4 I’ve seen so far and there’s no way all of these parallels between mark’s journey and kier are accidental, especially since lumon relies on him to complete cold harbour pic.twitter.com/D4ffnThnHM

In a TikTok posted by @virgo_blade, the theory explains “I think I figured out what’s going on in Severance. It’s all about the baby.” A spoiler warning for anyone who hasn’t seen Woe’s Hollow yet, of course.

“I believe Mark in the story represents Kier, and Helena is the gaunt wife [or, Woe]. In the beginning of the ep Mark stands atop the cliff, like the painting Kier invites you to drink of his water. Automatically, these two are connected, and the rest of his MDR team have to climb to reach him. Mark’s important to Lumon because he’s needed for Cold Harbor. Everybody else can be replaced, but he has an elevated status.
“At the campsite, Milchick gives Mark the torch because he’s the torch bearer – a person who inspires others to work towards their goals. This is a leadership position and it feels almost ceremonial. Mark and Helena make love, but he thinks she’s Helly. Helena represents temptation and in the story she is the gaunt wife. At the same time, Helena’s an Eagan so she also represents Kier’s wife Imogene.
“Irv saw Helena through the trees like he saw the gaunt wife through the cubicle partitions. The visual parallels connect the characters just like Mark and Kier. I think Helena / Helly is now pregnant, and Lumon will try and use their baby for the new body of Kier. It’s messed up.
“That’s why those suited babies are in the new intro with Mark. He will bring about the return of Kier. It’s snowing in his bedroom because the baby was consummated in Dieter Eagan National Forest. Mark plus Helly equals Kier Eagan baby.”
I mean, you can’t argue with that. The title sequence bit just made about 50 lightbulbs go off in my head. I need answers, and I need the new episode more than I need life itself.
