This crazy Severance moment we all forgot proves Helena’s already been to the severed floor

Severance is a show so complex and mysterious that it is never short of theories, and that has not slowed down as the show has returned with its acclaimed second series. But one of the biggest theories that everyone is gagging for an answer to in this new season is the fact that that people do not believe that Helly R did not return to the severed floor after the overtime contingency drama of the season one finale. A major theory for Severance season two is that it’s Helena Eagan who is down there with the gang, faking being Helly R. Some people have been claiming this isn’t possible and that the Outies can’t go down to the Innies land – but a Reddit conversation pointed out a Severance moment we all forgot that actually proves it could be Helena down on the severed floor.

I feel so stupid for forgetting this, but now I’m an even more of a truther that the woman we’re seeing in season two of Severance is absolutely not Helly R – but Helena Eagan.

On the Severance Reddit – essential reading at the best of times – this one moment from season one pointed out gives so much credence to the Helly R theory.

“We already saw Helena on the severed floor,” Reddit user @fatso784 explains. “I was rewatching S1 and caught this – When Helly hangs herself, the elevator goes all the way up and opens at the entrance. Helena wakes up and struggles. The doors slide closed as no one is monitoring the entryway.

“In the next scene when Mark saves Helly/Helena in the elevator, she drops to the floor and clearly wakes up. She isn’t gasping anymore. Grainer forces Mark into the elevator, ushering him away as quick as possible, as Helly/Helena watches on.

“Now note that before Helly comes back after the suicide attempt, Milkshake implies to Mark that the Helly that woke up that he rescued was actually Helena. He says that Mark should greet Helly kindly bc it would be the first conscious experience Helly has after the attempt.”

The user also posts this verbatim line from the script that Milchick says: “She was in Outie form at the time she woke up. So, this will be Innie Helly’s first conscious experience since the hanging.”

The user continues “He is not lying, because when Helly wakes up in the elevator when she is to return to work, she is gasping for air. Remember, the last time we saw Helena she is dazed on the floor, but not gasping. She had regained her senses. TLDR: We already saw Helena in the severed floor. In fact she probably got the idea to go down there as her outtie from the suicide attempt.”

This basically is really important if you watch Severance because this moment proves with Helena that Outies can be on the severed floor. A lot of the non believers of the Helly / Helena switch think that Outies can’t go down there – this is concrete facts that they already have and we’ve literally seen it!
