The super ironic reason Molly Smith was so ‘shocked’ by this year’s All Stars cast
Um, that happened to her too?!
Molly Smith, who won Love Island All Stars last year with Tom Clare, has revealed why she was so “shocked” by this year’s cast – and it’s pretty ironic.
In a new interview with The Mirror, she said she was super suprised to see Marcel and Gabby in the villa after all these years.
“I was shocked to see Marcel and Gabby in there, and obviously they’re exes. To see them after all these years was a bit, ‘Oh, my God!'” she said.
However, Molly knows first-hand what it’s like to be thrown into All Stars with your ex, because that’s exactly what happened to her.
After splitting from her boyfriend of almost four years Callum Jones, they had an awkward reunion in the Love Island villa in 2024.
Things started off pretty turbulent between them and they both found being stuck in the same place very difficult after a messy breakup.
Callum and Molly told their fellow Islanders they split after continuously “clashing” and having constant arguments.
However, they eventually became friends again and were happy for each other to move on with new love interests in the villa.
That’s exactly what happened with Marcel and Gabby too, and they ended on good terms when he was dumped with Liv Hawkins.
The pair were on Love Island in 2017 and stayed together for almost a year before Marcel admitted to cheating on her during a holiday in Mexico.
Molly was also shocked to see her friend Kaz Crossley in South Africa, because she didn’t tell her she was going on the show.

“No, she didn’t [tell me]! But, to be fair, she asked me if I was going on All Stars last year and I said “No,” so it makes sense,” she said.
“I had my suspicions about a few people going in, because I looked on Instagram and saw that some people were in the gym over Christmas, and it’s real dedication to work out over Christmas, so I did wonder.”
