Love Island All Stars is back to its old tricks, casting exes Gabby and Marcel knowing full well they had a messy break up following his cheating being exposed. This one could get awkward.

Gabby and Marcel met on Love Island over seven years ago, and after just under a year broke up. At the time, it was one of the biggest scandals Love Island had ever seen.

So, here’s everything that went down between Gabby and Marcel when they first left Love Island, and the cheating drama fully explained.

Marcel and Gabby left Love Island 2017 together

Gabby and Marcel met on Love Island back in 2017. Marcel was in the original cast that year, and Gabby entered as a bombshell during the second week. They cracked on straight away, and coupled up on day 14.

They were together for the rest of the show – but did have some bumps. Marcel kissed someone else during Casa Amor, and back then it was the days of the lie detector test – which said Gabby had lied about being in love with Marcel. But, they made things work, and left the show in fourth place.

They then broke up after it was revealed he had cheated on her

After the villa, things got messy for Gabby and Marcel. In May 2018, 10 months after the show, it was announced they had split. Marcel admitted to cheating on Gabby during a holiday to Mexico together. Yes, he cheated whilst they were on a holiday *together*.

It was reported at the time the couple had argued on the trip, so Marcel decided to sneak off with someone else who was staying at their hotel. Gabby dumped him when she found out.

A source said at the time: “They had a row one night so Gabby went back to their hotel room to sleep. Marcel started chatting to another woman at the bar where they kissed in full view of other guests. Marcel and the girl slept together in her room and he left and went back to Gabby’s room, but promised to see her the following day when Gabby was at the gym.”

Gabby was reportedly left “devastated” after the other woman showed her incriminating messages from Marcel. In one it was alleged he suggested meeting for “day sex” whilst Gabby was at the hotel gym.

Marcel’s rep said: “Marcel can’t really defend his actions as he knows what he did was wrong and will regret it forever. Marcel is upset that he broke the heart of someone he loves and someone that he shared so many special moments with, but with all the good times there are difficult times, and sadly Marcel and Gabby had been in a bad place at this stage.”

Now, their split is being dragged up again as Gabby and Marcel have been cast on Love Island All Stars. Speaking to The Tab ahead of going back into the villa, Gabby said there isn’t a chance of them getting back together, but she would like to have a chat with him about what went down.

“We haven’t seen each other in years,” she said. “I would like to have a conversation with him, and put it behind us.” She called his cheating a “huge betrayal of trust”. Gabby did add she would be open to the idea of forming a friendship with Marcel. But despite this, said she “can’t look at him the same way” because of how much he broke her heart.

“I don’t think I would ever get back with him, it was a betrayal of trust,” she said. She added: “There are no hard feelings. We had a great experience [on Love Island] together. I think we could be mates.”
