It was eight years ago, so here’s a full recap of Gabby and Marcel’s Love Island journey

Gabby and Marcel have been coupled up on the first episode of All Stars, eight years after they originally met on the show.

They were in the Love Island villa on season three back in 2017 and went through the entire experience together.

The pair were then an item for just under a year before going through a very turbulent split as he admitted to cheating on her.

It was ages ago, so here’s a full recap of their relationship and villa journey.

They met on the first week of Love Island

Marcel was in the villa from day one, but Gabby didn’t enter until day seven when she came in as a bombshell. She chose to take Chris and Marcel out on a date, but ultimately decided it was Marcel she liked. It was the boys who had to choose which girl to couple up with first, and he thankfully chose her.

They were very loved up for a while

They spent the next few weeks developing their relationship and always chose to couple up with each other again when there was a recoupling. The pair were totally smitten with one another and things were smooth sailing for a while, with neither of them having their eyes turned by any newcomers.

Then Marcel kissed another girl in Casa Amor

However, things all went wrong in Casa Amor, when Marcel strayed from Gabby by kissing Shannen. He still came back single and wanted to continue things with the blonde bombshell when he returned, but cracks started forming in the relationship from that point on.

The lie detector challenge brought more issues

A little while later, they had another issue when some of Gabby’s answers came out as lies in the lie detector test, including “Can you see a long-term future with Marcel?” and “Do you genuinely love Marcel?”. Sam, who was recently voted back into the villa, accused her of being “fake”.

They finished the series in fourth place

They managed to iron out any issues and ended up coming in fourth place behind Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay, Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt and Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood. The pair left the villa as a loved-up couple once again and stayed together for 10 months.

Then they split after Marcel cheated on Gabby

However, they broke up on the outside after Marcel admitted to cheating on her during a holiday in Mexico. They were on the trip together and had an argument, so Marcel got chatting to another woman at a bar while Gabby slept alone in their hotel room.

It looks like they’ve already put the past in the past on All Stars, but who knows what drama the series will bring.
