All the new Netflix shows of 2024, ranked by their wild Rotten Tomatoes score
I am so FUMING about what came last
It’s been a MASSIVE year for new shows on Netflix, with 2024 seeing some of the biggest global phenomena of TV coming out of the streaming service and being all anyone could talk about for months. Can you believe Fool Me Once, One Day and Baby Reindeer were in 2024? Because I can’t! With so much acclaim and controversy surrounding some of these TV shows, and with new ones like Black Doves getting huge clout, here’s a ranked rundown of all the 2024 Netflix shows by their critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Some of these scores are very harsh and very ridiculous. You will be fuming.
15. Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story – 47 per cent
The only show deemed ‘rotten’ by Rotten Tomatoes on this ranked 2024 Netflix shows rundown is Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Very, very ‘arsh. I do not object that true crime is ethically blurry or that Ryan Murphy shows deserve scrutiny – but this was really good, be serious. Performances were amazing. Unfair!
14. The Perfect Couple – 65 per cent
Nicole Kidman camped it up in this book adaptation, but this seems fair to be ranked so low to me. One of those TV shows everyone spoke about for two days then forgot existed.
13. Fool Me Once – 71 per cent
Most Read
I know you’re FURIOUS about this one. Michelle Keegan gobbled in this ridiculous Harlan Coben adaptation. Netflix always churn these out, and to be honest, it doesn’t matter that critics didn’t go wild for it. It was the most watched show of the year and the Coben mystery thrillers always smash with the public.
12. Eric – 73 per cent
Err, that random one with Benedict Cumberbatch. Nobody watched. Or cared.
11. The Gentlemen – 75 per cent
Never watched this one, which was the Theo James vehicle which was a continuation of the Guy Richie film of the same name. Heard it was a bit of a romp!
10. Kaos – 76 per cent
Poor Jeff Goldblum. Starring as Zeus in this huge budget show reimagining Greek mythology and it gets cancelled faster than it aired. At least he had Wicked to fall back on and to help everyone forget about it.
9. 3 Body Problem – 79 per cent
This one kinda came and went, but it was a decent and original little sci-fi show for those who gave it the time of day.
8. Griselda – 86 per cent
Amazing stuff – great showcase for how talented Sofia Vergara truly is.
7. Ripley – 86 per cent
Arty black and white showcase of Andrew Scott’s excellence.
6. One Day – 91 per cent
We’ve hit the 90 per cent and above shows in this Netflix 2024 ranked Rotten Tomatoes rundown – and I cannot actually believe One Day was this year. It feels longer ago than Fool Me Once to me, and Fool Me Once came out first. What One Day did great was its redemption arc for the story that previously had a woefully crap film. Great stuff. The world wept.
5. Nobody Wants This – 94 per cent
Proof that you can make a cheesy romcom series starring Kristen Bell and still get acclaim and people loving it. So don’t settle for crap guys, you can get genuinely decent cheesy crap if you want it bad enough.
4. Black Doves – 97 per cent
Genuinely amazing TV. New obsession. Never knew I needed a Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw double act spy show with a very dry sense of humour and a very camp Sarah Lancashire as their boss. What am I even talking about… I always want that. Never needed anything more. Only two episodes in and I would have this as some of my fave telly of the year.
3. Baby Reindeer – 99 per cent
The big one. I can’t remember the last time a show was ALL anyone was talking about like this one in so long. And it deserved every bit of its acclaim AND its controversy. Art at its most thought provoking. Fascinating witnessing it all unfold.
2. Geek Girl – 100 per cent
Is this a practical joke Rotten Tomatoes have done to wind me up? Unsure. But very unhappy.
1. Supacell – 100 per cent
Not my number one show, but happy to see Supacell top the ranked 2024 Netflix shows rundown. Very underrated – and the most interesting spin on superhero fiction I’ve seen done in ages. Binged it all in a day and did not regret it. The finale episode was spectacular and actually made me cry. Watch it if you haven’t!
