What really happens when a campmate refuses to do a trial on I’m A Celeb

So does the camp just go hungry then?

Given how gross they are, it’s actually pretty rare that a celebrity straight up refuses to do a bushtucker trial on I’m A Celeb. After being voted to take part in a horrific challenge, the campmates are usually quite keep to earn some stars and food for camp.

However, there have been a few occasions – Lady C I’m looking at you – where celebs have been having none of it. Ant and Dec do always say before the trials that they don’t *have* to do them. And, it’s true. Nobody can force the celebrities to eat bugs or have insects thrown over them. Unfortunately.

So, what actually happens if a campmate refuses to take part in an I’m A Celeb trial? It turns out, it’s an outcome ITV is very prepared for.

ITV has a plan in place for if a celebrity refuses to do a bushtucker trial on I’m A Celeb

ITV has a plan for what happens it it’s a no from a celeb. It’s stated in the terms and conditions for when the public vote for who does the challenge.

It says: “If the celebrity/celebrities who receives the highest number of votes to do a trial or other activity refuse(s) to participate in the trial (or to continue to participate if they have started the activity) or is unable to participate or continue to participate due to medical concerns, or for other reasonable concerns, which are beyond the control of ITV and/or the producers, then the celebrity/celebrities who has received the next highest number of votes may be required to do the trial or other activity.”

Disaster stations, the person who was voted second could also refuse. If so, another cast member “may be selected to take part in the trial at the producers’ discretion.”

No, they don’t just call off the trial and have the celebs go hungry.
