We spoke to Henry Moores, the lad who walked to Ibiza and raised over £160k for charity
Henry told The Tab about the gruelling miles, going viral with Wayne Lineker and his next walk
Remember the viral guy who has been walking here, there and everywhere across Europe on TikTok in the past few months? That’s Henry Oscar Moores, and he’s actually walked from the U.K to Paris, Manchester to Ibiza and London to Berlin – I think it’s safe to assume that his Strava stats would make mine look pathetic.
You probably recognise him from his daily updates of his hikes on TikTok and Instagram. And whilst we’ve been doom scrolling, Henry Moores and his walks across the globe have raised well over £150,000 for charity.
His first walk raised around £20,000, his second £136,000 and his third £7,000. Effectively, Henry Moores is who “Hardest Geezer” would be if he wasn’t able to run – and is absolute legend putting his body through pain to raise money for charity. But who is the Manchester lad raising hundreds of thousands of cash for charity? Henry spoke to The Tab about his achievements – this is his story, told by him.
‘I was just a normal 21-year-old from Manchester who didn’t have a job’
Just your average 22-year-old from Manchester, Henry started walking to challenge himself and raise some money for important causes last year. Embarking on his first trip from Manchester in October 2023, he walked all the way to Paris in just a few weeks.
Henry was keen to point out that this is something that anyone can do – he thinks that a challenge like this is more about how much you mentally want it than how physically capable you are. Henry told The Tab: “A year ago, I was just a normal 21-year-old lad from Manchester who didn’t have a job and didn’t have much going on.”
After his first completed challenge, Henry caught the bug and wanted to do more, with this trip inspiring him to go on another adventure and raise even more money for charity. Henry said: “I’d been telling people for ages that I wanted to walk to Spain, like long before it ever happened.”
The walk to Ibiza and going viral with Wayne Lineker

On returning home from Paris, Henry explained he wanted to go bigger, deciding to reach out to Wayne Lineker over in Ibiza about walking to the Spanish island.
Deciding to reach out to Wayne for help in spreading the word about his fundraising challenge, he sent him a message over in Instagram.
Henry explained how it all happened:” I get back from Paris, I’m in my bedroom and I think, you know what, I’m going to DM Wayne Lineker about walking to Ibiza. Surprisingly, Wayne responded to me and then it all just took off from there.”
And walk to Ibiza he did. Embarking on the 1,400-mile trek across Europe, Henry raised more than £136,000 for the Tony Hudgell Foundation, a charity set up to support vulnerable children.
Documenting his journey online, Henry shared updates of his progress every day. Wayne’s interest in Henry’s challenge also, really elevated Henry on social media and enhanced his social media following significantly.
Facing many troubles on his way, Henry thought that the isolated and solitary nature of the walk was one of the most difficult aspects: “It’s really weird being on your own for that long. When you do meet people, though, it makes it proper special. There’s so many people I’d consider friends for life that I met along the way and still speak to.”
Many people thought Henry would get the final boat to Ibiza from Barcelona to make the walk as short as possible – he didn’t even stop at Valencia, but continued further south all the way on to Denia, the southernmost port with ferries regularly going to Ibiza – Henry quite literally could not have walked any further.
“It was such a cool feeling getting onto the boat – it wasn’t even relief because I knew I would miss it when I got to the finish line. But it felt class to get there and see how many people were behind me and supporting me. I can’t thank Wayne enough – he has been so helpful to me”.
He added: “Doing something like this makes you realise that other people really do want to help each other”.
Henry’s now raised a total of £160,000 for charity

Henry’s most recent hike to Berlin to watch England play in the final of the 2024 European Championships was another successful fundraising challenge, but did leave him with some aches and pains along the way.
While his accomplishments will undeniably be some cool future dad lore one day, the main goal was to raise money for charity. On top of the £130k raised on his walk to Ibiza, Henry’s other challenges raised a total of over £160,000 for charity.
And now with over 330k followers on Instagram, Henry Moores’ walks have a huge audience which just keeps growing and growing.
He explained how donations spurred him on, saying: “When you are walking and on your own, particularly on the days where it’s hard graft, seeing people donate really does keep you going. It makes you realise how much people care about other people and it gives you that motivation to push on. I’m still so grateful to everyone who has donated to me”.
Where will we see Henry next?

Henry is currently putting his feet up on holiday (an actual holiday, not another walk), after completing his third major hike. He plans to rest for a little while but hasn’t ruled out another charity hike sometime in the future.
Henry told The Tab: “I kind of like the idea of walking round the whole coast of England – I think that would be a pretty fun challenge that people would get behind.
“It’s hard though because I don’t want people to think I’m doing too much or in their faces all the time – I’ll have a little break but, yeah, I might do something like that again soon”.
“I’m proud of how the last year has gone and I hope that some people have been inspired – it is a bit surreal when people come up to you in the street and recognise you, but I honestly am really appreciative of everyone’s support. It makes you realise how nice people truly are.”
Here’s to many more famous Henry Moores walks across the globe in the future.
