Man jailed after stealing laptops, PS5 and Nintendo Switch from Cardiff’s Talybont halls

A man has been jailed after stealing a PS5, a Nintendo Switch, and two laptops from Talybont student halls.

40-year-old Thomas Fadian from Pontarddualias, South Wales, has been sentenced to 20 months imprisonment for the burglary that took place on the 5th August last year.

The victim left his room at 6:30pm and returned two hours later to find his PS5 and games, a Nintendo Switch, two laptops and a wallet had all been stolen. The items were believed to valued at around £1,000, reports the South Wales Guardian.

The window of the room was found to be damaged having been forced upon, when Fadian broke in, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

Investigations into the incident discovered fingerprints on the window which matched the defendants. CCTV footage from the student halls showed Fadian, dressed in black, looking through the windows and pulling an object out of his backpack.

Following an appeal from the police Fadian was arrested and answered no comment during questioning. He later pled guilty to a charge of burglary dwelling and theft.
