Malala has become a global figure for peace since she began campaigning for girl's rights to education. At the age of just 11 she began blogging for BBC Urdu about life as a young girl under Taliban rule.
In 2012 she became internationally known for getting shot in the head whilst travelling home from school in Taliban-ruled Pakistan.
Following the attack, Malala and her family were relocated to Birmingham for rehabilitation. Since then she has campaigned globally for girls' rights to education and in April she become the youngest ever UN Messenger of Peace.
