Second year Ben Pocock mourned by uni
The TabAs many students gear up for tonight’s Grad Ball, a day that is supposed to be filled with joy and celebrations is tinged with sadness following the death of a Loughborough student.
Ben Pocock was aboard downed Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, which was shot down near the Ukrainian border on the 17th July. He was travelling to begin a placement year in Australia.
Ben had just completed his second year and was due to start placement at the University of Western Australia as part of his International Business Degree.
Loughborough University and Loughborough Students’ Union have expressed their condolences using their official Twitter accounts.
The Epinal would also like to express our sadness following his death and offer our condolences to his family and friends.
