The ex-Islanders who turned down the chance to appear on the All Stars version of Love Island

For years people have been begging ITV to create a version of Love Island that features some of the most iconic Islanders to ever step into the villa, and now their prayers have been answered.

Love Island: All Stars is in the works at ITV, with some famous faces they’re hoping to join the show. The series is set to feature former Islanders and will air in early 2024.

Since it has been announced that ITV are casting for the show, ex-Islanders have spoken about whether they’d make a return and what they said to the producers of Love Island: All Stars when they were approached and the answers weren’t overwhelmingly positive.

A bunch of ex-Islanders have revealed why they chose not to take part in Love Island: All Stars. Whether it be because Love Island is a thing of the past for them or they simply didn’t want to, here’s what they’ve all had to say.

Maura Higgins

One bombshell viewers want to make a return to the villa is Maura Higgins, but she has since revealed she rejected an offer to join the series. Maura starred on season five of Love Island and made it to the finals alongside Curtis Pritchard.

Maura revealed she turned down the opportunity to star on the All Star series because she “doesn’t want to go back in time”.

Speaking to Goss.ie, she said: “I can’t see myself ever doing that again, no. I’ve been asked, but I’ve said no. I just think, I’ve done it once, I’ve had my time on Love Island. I don’t really want to go back in time, I want to look to the future.”

Maura has since landed herself a job on Love Island USA as a social host.

Kady McDermott

Kady McDermott returned to Love Island during the latest series, seven years after originally starring on the show.

During an appearance on Sam Thompson and Pete Wick’s Staying Relevant podcast, Kady revealed she was asked to appear on the series in September this year, but she decline as she had just appeared on the most recent UK series.

“I got asked to do Love Island The Games in September – I’ve had enough, I’m retired for the year. I’ll leave that one,” she told the podcast hosts.

Adam Collard

Adam Collard is another former Islander who turned down the chance to star on the All Stars series. Adam rose to fame after originally starring on the 2018 series and then went on to appear in the 2022 series.

When asked if he’d sign up to the All Stars series, Adam said he wouldn’t as appearing on Love Island the second time “took a lot of energy” from him.

He told The Sun: “No I don’t think so because everyone needs to catch up. I’m one show ahead of everyone else. No to be honest, there is no inclination to do it right now.

“I think the second time very much took a lot of energy away from me.”

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu won the Love Island 2022 series alongside her now ex-boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti. Since her split, Ekin-Su has spoken openly about whether she would make a return to the villa and if she’d take part in Love Island All Stars.

Speaking to MailOnline, the former winner said: “No I’m not doing that, no. To me Love Island is a one time thing and I’ve done that. I’ve had my experience and I loved it and that’s it for me.”
