What happened to Pia? The ending of Black Mirror: Loch Henry fully explained
I need answers NOW
No matter how much you think you’ve cracked the code when it comes to a Black Mirror episode, a twist throws you off and you can’t look at anything the same again.
In the second episode of Black Mirror season six, viewers are introduced to a couple who visit a town in Scotland as they become invested in a true crime case. While everything is quite smooth sailing throughout the episode, absolutely no one saw the final 15 minutes coming. Like any Black Mirror episode, especially Loch Henry, viewers are desperately in need of having the ending explained to make sense of what they’ve just seen.
So what happened at the ending of Loch Henry and what the HELL happened to Pia? Here is the full Loch Henry ending explained. Trigger warning: Mention of suicide and death.
After exploring the case of Iain Adair, a boy who was said to have killed and tortured multiple people and his parents, himself and Davis’ father, Pia and Davis begin digging deeper.
Pia and Davis originally keep their new documentary idea to themselves but soon reveal what they are working on to Davis’ mother, Janet, who tells her version of events.
The couple eventually take their documentary idea to Historik and head to Iain Adair’s house to get more information with their friend Stuart. On the way home they get into a car accident and Davis has to spend the night in hospital.

Pia returns home with Davis’ mother and goes to his bedroom. She begins watching footage that they shot that day but she needed some blanks. When she was unable to get any, Davis said it would be okay to film over his mother’s old Bergerac tapes as she doesn’t watch them.
Pia begins fiddling with the footage and Bergerac tapes and a clip of Iain Adair begins to roll. Pia notices the video shows the missing couple, Dawn and Simon, tied up and crying on the sofa. The person holding the camera then gives the camera to Iain and it is Davis’ father. He says in the video “the mistress” will be “having fun” with them.
The camera then shows a younger Janet wearing a red mask as she dances around with an electric drill in her hand. In the present day, Janet comes up behind Pia and tells her dinner is ready. She tries to remain calm before noticing the same red mask from the video hanging on the wall behind Janet.
Pia tries to leave the house and Janet goes to Davis’ room and realises what Pia has seen. Pia runs off and hides behind a brick wall as Janet calls out for her but Pia walks into a stream. She eventually loses her balance and viewers see her body float away.
Janet then drives back home and pulls out a box with items Dawn Challis was wearing the night she disappeared along with photos of her and Kenneth’s victims. She puts the box and Bergerac videos on a table before putting on the red mask and hangs herself.
After the events of the night unfold, Davis is being interviewed for something which viewers later realise is a trailer for his documentary about the Loch Henry killings.
In the trailer, viewers find out that Stuart’s father confesses he spent a night with Kenneth and Janet and he said they took part in sex games which made him think Iain Adair didn’t act alone.
