Love Is Blind’s Cole had the most red flags by far this season, here’s every single one

Cole can cry all he wants, I have zero sympathy and that’s that

Netflix’s Love Is Blind has a talent when it comes to finding awful men to take part. This year the show’s producers were particularly good at it and found a bunch of them, one of the worst being Cole Barnett.

Right from the get-go, viewers compared Cole to the likes of Shayne and Shake from season two – something that was a red flag within itself. So get ready for a complete rundown of Cole’s huge red flags.

His beauty standard is white women

Cole was dismissive of Zanab’s attractiveness right from the moment they met each other in person. It’s nothing to do with her looks though, it’s because she’s not white. It quickly became clear that Cole’s beauty standard is exclusively white women and Zanab will never meet it.

Cole asking Zanab if she was bipolar

What he did here was he weaponised mental health without realising it. He threw this question at Zanab during a moment where all she was doing was trying to have an open conversation with him. Also imagine shaming anyone for their mental health let alone weaponising it against them in a heated moment. He insensitively asked her too, for all we know she might have bipolar. We haven’t seen them discuss mental health so who are we to judge?

Zanab says Cole tried to control what she ate before the wedding

In the reunion episode Zanab says she felt as though Cole was trying to control what she ate, revealing that she stopped eating and would only consume a “banana and a teaspoon of peanut butter” on some long days of filming. In an interview with Variety she said:”I was somehow trying to make myself desirable to him, whether it be skinnier or, I’ve never had someone speak to me that way about my body or eating. That was very real for me. I did change what I was eating. I was just eating a banana. I did lose weight by the wedding day. It had nothing to do with fitting into my wedding dress.”

Cole has big frat-boy energy

Cole is the type of guy who has zero emotional-intelligence and that’s a huge red flag. For example he told Zanab she looks like Kim Kardashian which really isn’t the compliment he thought it was given the context of this conversation.

Also let’s not forget about the fact he continued to dig himself deeper holes when trying to get himself out of trouble with Zanab.

Cole’s religious family flat out refused to meet Zanab

Watching the show felt like Cole made no effort to encourage his family to meet Zanab. Of course we don’t know what happened off camera but given the fact they didn’t show at the wedding is a red flag. He shouldn’t have been comfortable making such a big commitment and declaration of love if his family weren’t willing to be present for it.

He full on blames Zanab after the wedding for giving him trauma

After Zanab leaves him at the altar, Cole turns to the camera and begins to cry. He says how she has broken his heart and he doesn’t know if he will ever recover from this whole situation – did he just not listen to everything she told him at the altar? His reasoning for not marrying him was so fair. Zanab said: “You have disrespected me, you have insulted me, you have critiqued me, and for what it’s worth, you have single-handedly shattered my self-confidence. And the messed up thing is I know I love you but love shouldn’t feel this way. I can’t marry you.”

The audacity of this man to turn himself into the victim in this scenario when he had done nothing but bash her.

He kissed a girl and asked for his number at this bachelor party

In the reunion episode, Zanab claimed Cole kissed another woman at his bachelor party before asking for her number. He denied the allegations but still it is incredibly messed up to then be prepared to say “I do” the day after to Zanab. It’s evil.
