David Dobrik Jeff Wittek drama

Explained: A timeline of David Dobrik and Jeff Wittek’s ongoing feud

It all started with an accident that Jeff says broke his skull and face in several places

Jeff Wittek blew up on social media back in 2018 when he started appearing in David Dobrik’s vlogs. However in the last few days, Jeff has publicly cut ties with David and even threatened him with legal action following an accident which took place in June 2020. The accident resulted in Jeff Wittek breaking his face and skull in several places after he was swinging on an extractor machine which was being controlled by David Dobrik.

Over the past weeks, Jeff Wittek who has three million YouTube subscribers, has called David Dobrik a “fake friend” and has suggested he no longer wants anything to do with David, the vlog squad and his YouTube channel. The drama is a lot to catch up with, so here’s a timeline of all the drama that has happened between David Dobrik and Jeff Wittek since the accident.

In 2021 Jeff Wittek said his friendship with David Dobrik was over

In April 2021, during an episode of his documentary series called “Don’t try this at home,” Jeff Wittek said he had started to “resent” David Dobrik when sharing his side of the story. Then on the same day the episode was uploaded, Jeff says he is “done” being friends with David. He appeared in an Instagram live stream in which he spoke about the incident and said his friendship with David was entirely over.

On the live stream, Jeff explained he had to have another surgery on his injured eye but David Dobrik didn’t have any contact with him when he was discharged from hospital.

Jeff dropped out of ‘The Roast of Bryce Hall’ last month

On February 23 earlier this year, Jeff Wittek posted this tweet saying: “I’m no longer a part of the roast of Bryce hall. My entire set will be cut due to censorship, and David Dobrik being involved. I refuse to be a part of anything that scumbag is involved in from here on out.”

Jeff Wittek uploaded a podcast episode called ‘Dear David’

On February 25, Jeff posted a podcast episode called “Dear David” and in it he started making comments about David after finding out David was allegedly attempting to blame him for the accident. Jeff says: “David blamed me for the crane. He insinuated that I was crazy, I was the one to push it, and I’m the reason that this happened when that’s complete bullshit.” Jeff then admits he has lost all respect for David and hopes he soon becomes a better person.

David Dobrik said he’d do ‘anything’ to take back what happened to Jeff

On March 8 2022, in an episode of Views, a podcast co-hosted by David Dobrik and Jason Nash, David addressed the situation. Jason Nash also revealed they had invited Jeff onto the podcast to chat but he declined their request.

David said: “The Jeff thing is the fucking worst. That day is the worst thing that has ever happened to me and I would fucking to anything to take that day back.” However, he also said fans of the pair were made to believe David “forced” Jeff into performing the stunt. David continued: “That is not what happened. It was a combined decision we made and it was a complete accident.”

David also stated in the podcast episode, he was unaware Jeff was going into another eye surgery hence why he didn’t message. He didn’t realise until Jeff unfollowed him on Instagram and started making posts about him. David told his co-host Jason that he offered to pay for Jeff Wittek’s ongoing medical procedures and surgeries but Jeff’s assistant never got back to him.

Jeff has threatened David with legal action

Following David releasing a podcast episode called “Discussing what happened”, Jeff uploaded one called “Discussing what REALLY happened“. In this episode Jeff called both Jason Nash and David Dobrik “liars” and treating the entire Vlog Squad like “pawns” Toward the end of the episode, Jeff hints at taking legal action and says “Let’s just let the courts decide and you’ll have to sign a paper that says, ‘Yeah, this was a lie and I’m guilty of this and that,’ and we can go that route about it. Because let’s be honest, I get no points for beating you up.”
