Who does the voiceover on ITV’s The Cabins? Meet 26-year-old Maisie Adam
Find out why she looks so familiar
The Cabins launched on ITV2 last night and if you watched it, you might have noticed there’s a new unknown voiceover artist on it. While Love Island’s Iain Stirling has been off having a baby, a new face has emerged as the commentator behind the brand new dating show.
Meet Maisie Adam. Maisie is a 26-year-old comedian from Pannal in North Yorkshire, who will be narrating what the 12 singletons get up to as they try to find love in the cabins in just 24 hours.
If you think Maisie looks familiar, that’s because she has a huge number of TV credits, appearing in episodes of 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock the Week, Have I Got News for You, and QI.
Maisie started doing stand-up gigs in 2016, and became the fourth woman to ever win the So You Think You’re Funny? competition at the Edinburgh Fringe. She started on her first UK tour called ‘Hang Fire’ in 2019 and has performed in stand-up nights alongside famous comedians like Romesh Ranganathan. She also co-hosts her own podcast, ‘That’s A First’, with fellow comedian Tom Lucy.
Funnily enough, Maisie has appeared on ITV2 before her debut as The Cabins voiceover. Her first-ever on-screen performance was on ITV2 in 2019 on the Stand Up Sketch Show.
She’s also got a rather intriguing family background. Her grandfather was the person who led the inquiry into the failings of the search for the Yorkshire Ripper.
In the absence of Winter Love Island, The Cabins will air every weeknight at 9pm on ITV2. Contestants are paired off and asked to spend the night in a cosy log cabin. In the morning, they must decide to either check out or continue to see where things go.
Maisie will be The Cabins voiceover during the episodes, and Clara Amfo and David Potts will be hosts of the spin-off show.
