She also enjoys integrating her love for all kinds of media - music, TV, film, literature - into her feature pieces about student lifestyle.
  • In her spare time, Martha can usually be found with her nose in a book, but she also loves creative writing, crocheting, dancing, and hiking in the Lake District. She is particularly interested in LGBTQ+ life, media and representation.

Experience

When Martha joined Lancaster University, she had already been consistently writing music reviews, covering live gigs, and conducting interviews for the music publication Northern Exposure Magazine, as well as writing student news for her sixth form college newspaper. Hoping to broaden her journalistic horizons further, Martha joined The Lancaster Tab as soon as she could in October 2025 and has been writing news pieces and feature articles since.

Education

Martha is a first-year student at Lancaster University, taking German Studies and English Literature. She has a passion for translation, as well as a literary interest in presentations of sex, sexuality, gender and the body. Her favourite genre is literary fiction.
