Harry Styles is set to host a guest lecture on sports and exercise at the University of Manchester following his September appearance at the Berlin Marathon.
The lecture will take place in the Kilburn Building, and is primarily for students studying sport science and related courses, who will receive first access to sign-ups.
The university says the lecture will explore the physical and psychological benefits of endurance training, as well as wider wellness trends that have contributed to the rise in running across the UK.
Harry will draw on his own experience training for marathons to discuss motivation, discipline, and the role of exercise in maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing. He is also expected to touch on how structured training has influenced his wider lifestyle and creative routine.
The A-lister recently made headlines after running not one, but two marathons under pseudonyms. He debuted at the Tokyo Marathon in March 2025, with a time of 3:24:07. Just six months later, he recorded a time of 2:59:13 in the Berlin Marathon, placing within the top five per cent of finishers.
Harry ran under the pseudonym Sted Sarandos to protect his anonymity, but has since spoken publicly about his experience, describing running as a key part of his personal routine.
Due to expected high demand, attendees will need to register in advance. Sport science students will have priority access until Friday 3rd April 2026, after which remaining spaces will open to all students and staff at the University of Manchester.
A university spokesperson said they are “incredibly grateful” to Harry Styles for agreeing to speak.
“Exercise is an important part of student life,” they said, “and we hope this lecture will give students insight into the benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle alongside their studies.
“Running is such a huge part of student culture,” the spokesperson said, “and we hope that hearing from an individual with such an inspiring creative mindset will help our students
Connie, a second year student, explained her excitement to The Tab Manchester: “I don’t even care about sports or running but I’m obviously going to try and go. Kind of love that he’s trading that watermelon sugar high for a runner’s high.”
