Ariana Grande feels ‘instantly calm’ and now ‘isn’t in same place’ after stepping back from public

Ariana Grande has spoken out about how she is feeling now, following the news of her taking a break from the scrutiny that comes with a life in the public eye. 

For the longest time, the internet has been relentlessly filled with discussions surrounding Ariana’s health and body image. Pictures and videos from her gigs are always going viral, with people commenting on her body. Following the release of the music video for petal, this conversation returned. 

Earlier this month, Ariana Grande announced that she would be taking a break following the Eternal Sunshine tour. “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour,” her rep told PEOPLE. “She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”

Now, in an interview with Vosk in the City, Ari said the tour has been “such a beautiful corrective experience” for her, and described not feeling as though she was in the same place as she was before. “I think my last tour I wasn’t necessarily in the same place in life, and I wasn’t able to be as present as I am this time,” she said. 

“So to be able to literally, like, actually see and connect and feel … and to connect with them in this way, just to sing these songs that have been a part of our, like relationship, for 11 years or 10 years or like 13 years now at this point and just see them and know them and see them dressed as like strange niche jokes and stuff … it’s just a very long, long-term relationship.”

Ariana then went on to reflect on the love she has had from fans, and added: “The first time I felt it was when I first started, and I was very young, and I was doing TV and putting covers on YouTube and everything, like, it has felt like the same kind of love since, which has felt very real to me and just very mutual.

While this has been happening, Ariana has rekindled with Ricky Alvarez. According to sources, having someone she has “known forever” has helped Ariana feel “instantly calmer” amid the scrutiny. 

“They have so much history, it’s just very easy,” a source said, as per Star. “And she says the moment he stepped back into her life she instantly felt calmer.”

They added: “Ariana says she’s trying not to get ahead of herself. But in some ways, she does feel like fate could be giving them a second chance for a reason.”
