Bobby Vylan responds after being accused of ‘mocking’ Charlie Kirk’s death in concert clip

Their next gig has been cancelled because of it

Over the weekend,  Bobby Vylan stirred up a debate online after he was accused of making a dig at late right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk. During a concert in Amsterdam, Bobby Vylan, real name Pascal Robinson-Foster, introduced a song by dedicating it to Charlie.

“I want to dedicate this next one to an absolute piece of s**t of a human being. The pronouns was/were. Cause if you chat s**t you will get banged.” he said.

“Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk, you piece of s**t.”

After the video spread online, loads of people called out Bobby Vylan because they thought these comments were insensitive. The group’s upcoming concert at the 012 in Tilburg was cancelled as a result, with the venue saying his comments were “too far”.

The venue clarified why exactly they cancelled the show in a statement on their site, saying: “While we understand that these statements were made in the context of punk and activism, and that the reporting on them is sometimes less nuanced than what actually happened, we still believe these new statements go too far. They no longer fall within the scope of what we can offer a platform.”

In a recent video uploaded to X captioned “Calm down,” Bobby addressed the backlash.

“At no point during yesterday’s show was Charlie Kirk’s death celebrated,” he said. “If it was, go find me a quote, go find me something that proves we were celebrating his death.”

“What did happen is, one reporter came with the sole purpose of finding something to report, and after I called him a piece of sh*t and we played the song, they have written that up as a celebration.”

Bob Vylan have an upcoming US tour which is set to cover eight cities across October and November. After the concert clips from Amsterdam went viral, Christopher Landau, the Deputy Secretary at the US Department of State, replied to a post sharing the video.

“Rest assured that the @StateDept has revoked his visa so at least he will not be engaging in his grotesque diatribes on American soil,” he said.

Bobby Vylan previously made headlines after leading a chant for “death” to the Israel Defence Force earlier this summer at Glastonbury.
