After Charlie Kirk was shot last week, a manhunt began for the shooter and it was eventually revealed that in custody was the suspect – Tyler Robinson. After the right wing press and President Trump himself had been quick to blame the shooting on “radical leftists” – it was a blow to their perspective to discover that it was a white, cisgender male from a family of registered Republicans who had shot Charlie Kirk. Over the weekend, more details have emerged regarding Charlie Kirk having a roommate who is apparently transgender and in the process of transitioning from male to female. There is so much misinformation being circulated about the “trans” roommate of Charlie Kirk suspect Tyler Robinson – so here is what has officially been released that we can confirm to be true at this stage.

The Republican governor of Utah claims Tyler Robinson was in a romantic relationship with roommate

As officials search for a motive regarding why suspect Tyler Robinson shot Charlie Kirk – Republican governor of Utah Spencer Cox has last night shared that Robinson was in a relationship with his roommate, who he claims was transgender and was in the process of transitioning from male to female.

“The roommate was a romantic partner,” Spencer Cox told NBC News’s Meet The Press on Sunday. “We can confirm that that roommate is a boyfriend who is transitioning from male to female.”

Cox also added that this person has been “incredibly co-operative” and had “no idea that this shooting was happening”. Cox also confirmed that Robinson himself is not co-operating with the investigation.

The FBI told Fox News that Tyler Robinson lived with this roommate in St George, Utah – four hours away from the campus where the suspect shot Charlie Kirk.

Messages between Tyler Robinson and the roommate led to the arrest 

Messages between the pair were instrumental on pinpointing Tyler Robinson’s location before his arrest. These messages discussed a “need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in a bush, messages related to visually watching the area where a rifle was left, and a message referring to having left the rifle wrapped in a towel”.

Name and picture of roommate haven’t been released

There are circulating images online of the Charlie Kirk suspect Tyler Robinson’s “trans” roommate as well as a name – but it’s important to note that these haven’t been released by the investigation and are just fuelling online speculation.
