A First Bus change: Everything you need to know about Bristol’s new 24/7 bus service
Newer, better and more bus services coming this term, a win for students and Bristolians
From Sunday, August 31st, the M1 Metrobus between Hengrove Park and Cribbs Causeway will run a 24 hour a day, seven day a week service. They will run half hourly all night.
Bristol City Council and the West of England Combined Authority have introduced many other changes, including this 24/7 route.
Bus changes
Changes include a more regular service on the M2 route between Long Ashton Park & Ride and the city centre, with buses at weekday peak times running every 10 minutes rather than every fifteen minutes.
Night buses will be introduced on the 1 route on Monday to Saturday nights, and on the 2,4, and 6 services on Fridays and Saturdays. Along with changes to the 5 and 77 services being extended northward to Stoke Bishop.
Between Stoke Bishop and the University of Bristol during term, a new U1N night service will be in operation, which is a big win for us uni students.
For Bedminster, the A1 Airport Flyer will no longer run via East Street in a cityward direction, instead running via Sheena Road, Malago Road, and Darby Avenue after West Street.
Electric buses have also been introduced on routes around Bristol in recent months.
Bus strikes
However, what’s important to note for the next couple weeks is that over 1,000 drivers voted to strike early September. An initial five day strike has been called from September 4th to 8th, with more planned for September 16th to 19th, which may be tricky for freshers wanting to take night service back to their accom.

Many routes across the city, will have lots of improvement and revised timetables. As a student, I hope my bus ride to campus will be more comfortable!
