‘It’s not 1995’: Martha Stewart’s fierce reaction to bestie Snoop Dogg’s ‘homophobic’ rant
He claimed he was ‘scared’ by a lesbian couple in a Pixar film
After years of being Martha Stewart’s best friend and smoking a ton of the devil’s lettuce, Snoop Dogg’s image was one of overwhelming chillness. He just seemed like a pretty stand-up dude, but that fully tanked earlier this week when he was dubbed “homophobic” over his comments about a bloody Pixar film of all things.
It all started when Snoop took his grandson to the cinema to watch 2022’s Lightyear, a spin-off from the Toy Story franchise. In a brief and somewhat performative moment, the female astronaut cuddles her wife and young son, with Snoop’s grandson questioning, “Papa Snoop, how [can] she have a baby with a woman? She’s a woman.”
“Aw s**t, I didn’t come here for this s**t, I just came here to watch the goddamn movie. So that’s like f**k me, I’m scared to go to the movies now, y’all throwing me in the middle of this s**t that I don’t have an answer for … it threw me for a loop,” Snoop Dogg said. “These are kids … [do] we have to show that at that age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”
His comments were widely slammed as “homophobic”, and politicians even called for him to be removed from this year’s AFL Grand Final for his anti-LBGTQ+ rhetoric. Well, now Snoop’s bestie, Martha Stewart, has offered her two cents – and she’s not pleased.

So what did Martha Stewart say about Snoop Dogg’s comments?

Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg have been friends for years, first connecting on The Martha Stewart Show in 2008 when they both cooked mashed potatoes. He featured on her cooking show a number of times in the following years, with their friendship blossoming into full BFFs when they launched Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1. He smokes up, she cooks the food, it was quite literally a match made in stoner heaven.
Anyways, following Snoop Dogg’s homophobic rant on the podcast, someone close to the celebrity chef spoke to Hollywood reporter Rob Shuter. Writing on his Substack, Rob detailed how Martha was taken aback by her friend’s comments.

“Martha was disgusted. She adores Snoop, but she does not share his worldview,” the source said. “She believes love is love. Hearing him say something like that horrified her.”
Another person told Rob that Matha thinks that Snoop needs to get with the times, explaining: “She’s embarrassed. They’ve built this fun, profitable brand together, but she feels like he should know better by now. It’s not 1995 — this is 2025.”
Matha Stewart is said to feel “torn” over her bestie’s comments, because while she “loves him” as a friend, “this isn’t the man she wants to stand next to right now.”
Ouch!
