‘Our voice really does matter’: All of Sara’s glowing green flags on Love Is Blind
She’s a gem!
Love Is Blind is the type of show where the contestants bond over pretty normal things like their shared hometown or favourite colour. However, season eight cast member Sara skipped all of that small talk and went right into asking her connection, Ben, all the right questions about politics. Sara questioned Ben’s views on religion and the LGBTQ+ community which were both important to her. She also asked where he stands on politics and social issues like the Black Lives Matter movement, and I think everyone at home was impressed by her honesty. She’s the queen any man would be lucky to marry, so here are all of Sara’s glowing green flags on Love Is Blind season eight.
She took a firm stance on her political beliefs

“I’m, like, kind of ignorant toward that stuff. Like, I didn’t vote in the last election. As long as I don’t know, it’s not gonna do much,” Ben told Sara – and she did NOT take that lightly.
Sara said Ben’s response was “so annoying” and pushed him further because politics was a huge factor for her – as it should be!
After Ben said he wasn’t “one way or the other” about the Black Lives Matter movement, Sara said it was “very valuable and important to think about those things.”
“And knowing you, it’s not like you’re actively, like, racist, but I personally believe what happened to George Floyd and everything else that happened, I don’t think that’s right at all,” she said. “What’s so important is to speak up for things that are happening around us. You know, like, our voice really does matter.”

Ben still wasn’t fully engaged. “Yeah. I’ve just kind of been staying out of it,” he replied.
Sara said she didn’t like his answers and told Ben she appreciated his honesty but also said: “I think it is so easy for us to not have an opinion.” She was not taking that cop-out for a proper answer!
She also taught us that if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem
The way Sara handled Ben was really important because by bringing up topics like Black Lives Matter, the LGBTQ+ community and George Floyd, she proved that if you’re not actively participating in the solution, you’re part of the problem. She made Ben uncomfortable about not wanting to get into politics, but it was one of the most important discussions we have probably ever seen on Love Is Blind. After all, these things can also affect your marriage – look at Marissa and Ramses from last season.
She made sure they spoke about their families before they decided to get married

It was really important to Sara that she and Ben had discussed their families before agreeing to get married. It’s who you’ll spend a big chunk of your life with, isn’t it?
She also mentioned that they’d discussed their regrets, which was such an interesting thing to bring up. She’s just the best at covering all the important bases!
‘Love is ultimately having your best interest for that person’
Just before Ben proposed to Sara, she explained to him that love was all about “having your best interest for that person,” and that quote is so important. There’s a big trend on Love Is Blind of people not quite being ready for marriage yet, but if people took Sara’s advice, I bet there’d be a lot more happy couples on the show.
