Erm guys, turns out Love Island’s Ekin Su went to UCLan and honestly, the pics are wild

Ekin Su is back and more iconic than ever on Love Island: All Stars, and of course, uni students everywhere are living vicariously through her drama-filled love life while wishing we were relaxing in a sunny villa.

But Lancaster students can relate to our drama queen Ekin even more than ever, because it turns out she’s one of our own, having attended the University of Central Lancashire in her uni days – and there are pics to prove it!

So, here’s a deep dive into Ekin’s life at UCLan, and it’s a uni-life worthy of Love Island.

Ekin LOVED a night out, and partied with a whole new identity

It’s no surprise that Ekin’s old Facebook account from her time at UCLan is filled with glamorous shots of nights out and student parties. From mirror selfies in student bathrooms, to VIP booths with her friends, Ekin definitely loved to party at uni just as much as she did when she bomb shelled her way in to Love Island 2022.

Her photos feature big eyelashes and bold, sparkly eyeshadow, along with mini dress after mini dress in true 2010s fashion – and she always had a drink in hand.

While her iconic party days are no surprise, the name she used during them is – in true bombshell fashion, the Love Island icon went by the name “Susie Hayzel” – definitely fitting for a performing arts student! She loved her new identity, and regularly changed her profile photo to a different glammed-up picture.

During her performing arts degree, Ekin seemed to be prepping for reality show life early – an old YouTube video shows her starring in a student-made show about some uni students who love to party, which was filmed in what appears to be UCLan halls of residence. The show is hilariously called “Lancashore,” and we’re SO not surprised that Ekin took on the role of the infamous bombshell – is anyone else getting deja vu watching this?

Ekin knew what Lancashire student night life was like more than anyone

Ekin – or, should we say, Susie – seemed to be just as confused by Lancaster student clubs as most of us are, and according to an old post from 2013, she massively missed the popularity and vibe of London clubs. Honestly Ekin, we don’t blame you.

And don’t even get us started on the shops. Ekin’s suitcase must have been bursting at the seams with all of her incredible clubbing outfits – we’re not sure what shops available to Lancashire students were like in 2013, but you wouldn’t find those outfits in Lancaster or Preston these days.

She was just as popular then as she is now

Ekin had an insane social life, and clearly would have loved dressing up for Halloween and society socials.

A source told MailOnline that while Ekin was at UCLan, “everybody knew who she was…she made sure of that.”

Another source told the Sun Online that Ekin was “popular with the guys and quite glam for a student. There was always drama surrounding her. She was a character and had high expectations. She liked to be wined and dined with the thought that the guy should always pay.”

Honestly, “quite glam for a student” could mean anything in Lancashire – it’s definitely a far cry from what her life in Essex would have been like, and we’re sure that her outgoing personality and fashion sense made life at UCLan that much more interesting.
