Maya Jama’s game plan for Celebrity Traitors is to avoid trying ‘too hard’ or ‘overthinking’

This is really devious tbh

Maya Jama’s strategy for The Celebrity Traitors is rather unorthodox. Past Traitors players have schemed their way through the show by double-bluffing, throwing others under the bus, or even pretending to be Welsh. However, Maya Jama’s game plan is a bit simpler: not trying.

Ahead of her appearance on The Celebrity Traitors, the Love Island presenter said: “If I try too hard or start pretending to be someone I’m not, I’ll probably catch myself out. Especially if I end up being a Traitor. I’ve met a few people in the cast, but nobody really knows me, so we’re all starting from scratch. I think just being myself is probably my best strategy.”

Maya Jama didn’t plan to take The Celebrity Traitors too seriously. “I just want to have a laugh and enjoy the experience. If it goes well, great. Sometimes you actually do better when you’re relaxed and not overthinking everything.”

Maya aimed to play to her “biggest strength”, which is to “get on with people easily”. She intended to “just build genuine friendships and make good connections.”

“If you’re a Traitor, you don’t want anyone to suspect you,” she added.

Hm, perhaps Richard E. Grant could have done with that advice.

Well, Maya is the best Traitor so far!

Interestingly, Maya Jama also described herself as a “team player”, who works best as part of a group, and would never be the first person to nominate herself as a leader. Does that mean she will be reluctant to throw her fellow Traitors under the bus, and will try to keep them around for the finale? We’ll have to wait and see…
