Their ‘smart’ poster is really confusing, so is Jake Paul vs Logan actually happening?

Are the internet’s worst siblings about to fight? Kinda

After bouts with Mike Tyson, Tommy Fury, and even fellow YouTubers like KSI, Jake and Logan Paul announced their long-awaited fight on Tuesday sparking a complete Twitter meltdown.

The YouTuber-to-boxing pipeline is evidently a real thing because both Jake Paul and his brother Logan have been making a name for themself in the world of combat sports. The controversial internet personalities have dipped their toes in MMA, boxing, and even WWE, and now they look to be turning their gloves on one another.

Is Logan Paul vs Jake Paul actually happening?

On Tuesday, both of the Paul Brothers posted a poster to Twitter and Instagram that showed them face-to-face in an upcoming boxing match. Their names immediately began trending, presumably because we’d all love to watch them beating each other up.

“The moment you’ve waited a decade for… March 27 on @StreamOnMax,” Logan wrote on Twitter in a post that has since amassed 1.9 million views. Jake posted the exact same thing.

Though many took this as confirmation of a fight between them, sports journalists have claimed that it’s nothing more than “smart marketing” for an upcoming reality TV show on Max. The poster was allegedly designed to confuse people and spark a landslide of speculation about their long-awaited fight.

ESPN boxing journalist Mike Coppinger commented on the Twitter post: “Per multiple sources, this will be a reality series.”

Sports Illustrated writer Chris Mannix backed the above claims, adding that social media picked up the deliberately placed crumbs left by the Paul Brothers and ran with them.

“A source confirms Mike’s reporting here. While social media ran with this as a fight — smart marketing, as always, by the Paul’s — it was never formally announced as one,” he said.

Reacting to being fooled by Logan and Jake’s ominous poster, one person suggested: “If they were smart they would do a reality series that ends in beef and a fight to follow. It’s all scripted and fixed but that way they could maximize the grift.”

“Their whole career has been a reality series. They have never been in a fight that had any danger or wasn’t scripted,” another pointed out.

Exactly details on the Max show are scarce, but evidently, that was kind of the point of the cryptic poster. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the gory details, and considering it’s Jake and Logan, I’m sure they will be infuriating.
